In the past years, I have been embedded in different collaborative research ecosystems — most concretely in WP2 of Healthy Living as a Service, and through the development of ATMOS_FERA in dialogue with scientific datasets and researchers.
Rather than asking whether artistic research is valuable, I want to ask:
A qualitative diagnostic framework — not a metric, but an analytic lens. Applied to HLaS and ATMOS_FERA.
If artistic research is increasingly embedded in research consortia, then conceptual clarity about its epistemic contribution becomes necessary — not only for theory, but for structural positioning within funding and governance contexts.
This article is a first reflective step. It may open toward more systematic development later.
